Abby's dad wrote a poem the first week the babies were alive and we thought today was the perfect time to share it with you. Enjoy.

I am Max

Grandpa Fife Brown

24 weeks 1 day, 1lb. 9oz., 11.9 in. long,

A brother and a sister, those are the facts.

My real name is Maxwell,

But my family calls me Max.

You might not know it by my size,

Or by each tiny little part.

That I’m really a giant on the inside,

Because of the size of my heart.

And although Maggie, Miller, and I,

Came a few weeks early.

We couldn’t wait to meet our mom and dad,

Abby and Ryan Burle.

They have me hooked up to all kinds of wires,

There are leads and tubes and a tiny cot.

But I am Max, and one day,

I’m gonna tie ‘em all in a knot.

My parents read books to me,

Each and every day.

As do my grandparents,

And I hear each word they say.

I can’t wait for them to hold me,

And to climb up on their backs.

And when they ask, is it Maggie or Miller,

I’ll say, no! It’s Max!

I’m really a lucky little fella,

To be loved by so many so soon.

I’m not even alone at night,

I have angels in my room.

We talk and laugh and sing,

I bounce up and down on my bed.

And when I look up to the sky,

I see a big hand upon my head.

I visit Maggie and Miller,

We snuggle and hold each other’s hand.

We talk in our own secret language,

And we pretend that we form a band.

I play the guitar, while Maggie,

She plays piano and strings.

Miller, he’s the drummer,

And we all take a turn at who sings.

Out the window, we gaze at the stars above,

Shining ever so bright.

They’re really candles being held by angels,

Watching over us throughout the night.

And if I could tell my mom and dad one thing,

It’d be cast your worries on God and relax.

We love you a bushel and a peck, times three,

She is Maggie, he is Miller, I am Max.

We love you our Mighty Three!
