Maggie Gail is HOME!
On day 142, October 4th, our Mighty Maggie got to come home! From 1lb 6oz to 8lb 10oz and 10.5 in long to 21 in long! Our girl has grown!
Just to give you a reference we took a picture of her now and with her original diaper!
She has adjusted to home life great! She loves sleeping and playing. She sleeps 5 hour stretches at night which mommy and daddy love! During the day we play, read books, sing songs, and go on long walks. She has been very content and easy. (When the boys come home they will rock our worlds ;) )
Maggie's NICU graduation was special! The staff at NEGA made a special graduation cap for Maggie! The tassel of the cap was her very first footprint taken in the NICU. A lot of them wrote notes in her journal that we kept in her room through her journey!
She is so loved by so many!
Bringing her home was terrifying! I didn't know if I would actually be able to put her in the crib when it turned dark. (I don't know why I thought episodes would only happen at night). But I did it! I ripped off the band-aid. Maggie's first night at home she slept in her crib. I was so proud of myself! She hasn't had any episodes that we know of and is gaining weight like a champ! We see our pediatrician once a week and have gotten great reports each time. Our pediatrician marveled over how great Maggie looked at the first appointment. We also went to our first eye doctor appointment outside the hospital and the eye doctor said her eyes looked perfect! We were cleared for the next 6 months by the eye doctor.
I want to do a before and after post about the whole journey for our Mighty Three but honestly now is not the time as it is still raw and super emotional for me to look back at pictures when they all weighed 1 pound.
But for right now we will celebrate with YOU all the Mighty work God has done through our Mighty Three.
Maggie being saved and thriving is not about the miracle itself, but about Jesus. He doesn't perform miracles for my comfort but for His GLORY! Our pray through this whole season has been to give God the GLORY! I pray that our pain and joy has brought someone closer to Jesus. I know that my relationship with Jesus is forever changed. He truly is who He says He is! Hallelujah!!
